Notice to Mariners
Erie/Champlain Canals – Schenectady/Northumberland
August 28, 2020
Mariners are advised that bridge inspections will be occurring on the eastern Erie and Champlain Canals according to the following schedule:

Wednesday, September 2nd to Friday, September 4th – Western Gateway Bridge (E-13) in Schenectady, using an under-bridge inspection unit and safety skiff in the water.
- Wednesday, September 2nd – Route 4 Bridge (C-10) in Northumberland, using a bucket boat.
Channel width may be reduced, and slight delays may occur due to a vessel mounted manlift or under bridge inspection unit (UBIU) and safety boat moving below each bridge being inspected. Inspectors may be contacted on Marine Channel 13.
Boaters should reduce speed, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No Wake" speed after receiving clearance to pass.
