Notice to Mariners

Erie/Champlain Canals – Waterford/Halfmoon/Northumberland

August 7, 2020

Mariners are advised that bridge inspections will be occurring on the eastern Erie and Champlain Canals according to the following schedule:

• Monday, August 10^th – Peebles Island Bridge (E-1) in Waterford

• Tuesday, August 11^th and Wednesday August 12^th – Northway I-87 Bridge (E-7A) in Halfmoon

• Thursday, August 13^th and Friday, August 14^th – Northumberland Bridge (C-10) in Northumberland

Channel width may be reduced, and slight delays may occur due to a vessel mounted manlift and safety boat moving below each bridge being inspected. Inspectors may be contacted on Marine Channel 13.

Boaters should reduce speed, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No Wake" speed after receiving clearance to pass.
