NOTICE TO MARINERS
UPDATED LOCK OPERATING SCHEDULE – EASTERN ERIE CANAL

The New York State Canal Corporation announced today that the following locks on the Erie Canal are scheduled to open on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 7:00 a.m. for the 2020 navigation season.

Erie E-7 Niskayuna July 17 7 am – 5 pm
Erie E-8 Scotia July 17 7 am – 5 pm
Erie E-9 Rotterdam July 17 7 am – 5 pm
Erie E-10 Cranesville July 17 7 am – 5 pm
Erie E-11 Amsterdam July 17 7 am – 5 pm
The Mohawk River continues to experience low flow. The following locks on the Erie Canal will open during the week of July 20th as soon as water levels allow.

Erie E-12 Tribes Hill Week of July 20 7 am – 5 pm
Erie E-13 Yosts Week of July 20 7 am – 5 pm
Erie E-14 Canajoharie Week of July 20 7 am – 5 pm
Erie E-15 Fort Plain Week of July 20 7 am – 5 pm
Erie E-16 St. Johnsville Week of July 20 7 am – 5 pm
Erie E-17 Little Falls Week of July 20 7 am – 5 pm
Erie E-18 Jacksonburg Week of July 20 7 am – 5 pm
Construction and maintenance activities continue at the following locks on the Erie Canal. The projected opening date for those locations is noted below in bold font.

Erie E-20 Whitesboro August 7 7 am – 5 pm
The Canal system is scheduled to close to navigation on October 14, 2020.
