Notice to Mariners
Erie Canal – Scotia
June 27, 2019
Mariners are advised the portion of the Erie Canal in the vicinity of the Scotia Village Docks (mile 21.27) will be within the 400’ safe fallout radius of the Independence Day celebration fireworks show to start at dusk on Friday, June 28th. It is expected that there will be spectator vessels who might temporarily encroach upon the navigation channel.
Additionally, Lock E-7 Vischer Ferry and Lock E-8 Scotia will operate until midnight on Friday to accommodate spectator vessels leaving the event.
