Mariners are advised that the New York Power Authority will fluctuate the water level upstream of Lock E-7 (Vischer Ferry) by approximately 2 feet the below typical summer level from Monday, November 7, 2011 to Thursday, November 10, 2011. This action is being taken to facilitate NYS Canal Corporation flashboard removal at the Vischer Ferry dam. This lowered pool elevation will be in effect from the end of the day on Thursday, November 10, 2011, until the end of the navigation season.
The completion of this work on the schedule indicated above is dependent on weather and/or flow conditions in the river. Mariners should be aware that these low water levels may affect some vessels located in shallow water.
