Champlain Canal – Lock C-3 Update
September 5, 2011
Mariners are advised that the entire Champlain Canal has reopened for navigation.
At Lock C-3 (Mechanicville) all northbound vessel traffic must moor on the port side of the lock due to a mechanical problem.
Mariners are also advised that New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) has informed the Canal Corporation that NYSEG's boat barrier spanning the dam at Lock C-3 (Mechanicville) is not installed at this time.
The Waterford Visitor Center and the Federal Lock in Troy remain closed.
