Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Fairport
Empire State Regatta
July 26, 2011
Mariners are advised the Erie Canal Boat Company will hold the "Empire State Regatta" in the Village of Fairport on the Canal between County Rd. 21 and County Rd. 44. Regatta marshals will be stationed at each end of the course and an escort boat will be in service to facilitate vessel traffic during the events. The schedule for this event is as follows:
- Thursday, July 28, 2011, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Friday, July 29, 2011, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Saturday, July 30, 2011, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Mariners are reminded to use caution and be mindful of their wakes in this area as there will be approximately 15 kayakers and canoeists in the Canal during each event.
