To avoid any unnecessary inconvenience or delays, mariners seeking passage through a Canal Corporation lock are advised to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the scheduled closing time.  More information....

Notices to Mariners provide the latest information about Canal openings/closures, water levels, construction and other elements affecting navigation on the Erie, Champlain, Oswego and Cayuga-Seneca Canals. When necessary, the Canal Corporation issues several Notices to Mariners daily. Notices to Mariners are only posted on the website Monday through Friday during regular business hours. • November 13, 2009 -- Mariners are reminded that the New York State Canal System is scheduled to close to all commercial and recreational vessel traffic at 5:00 PM on Sunday, November 15, 2009
• November 10, 2009 -- Mariners are advised that the Ingersoll Street Lift Bridge in the village of Albion will be closed to navigation traffic on a sporadic basis on Wednesday, November 11, 2009, for maintenance
