NOTICE TO
MARINERS
Erie Canal
November 7, 2008
Mariners are advised that piling replacement work will be in
progress on the Erie Canal, starting on Monday, November 10, 2008.
This work is expected to continue until Friday, November 21, 2008.
This work area is located between Red Buoy 242 and Red Buoy 244 in
the Town of Lysander and will extend 90 feet into the Canal from the
west shoreline.
Boaters should proceed with caution through this area, at a
No Wake speed.
For updates and information, mariners are advised to monitor
1-800-4CANAL4 and www.nyscanals.gov. Additionally, mariners may sign
up for automatic e-mail and text message alerts through the Canal TRANSalert service. This service is offered to notify mariners
of major incidents and emergencies that may affect navigation on the
New York State Canal System. To register for this service, please
