NOTICE TO
MARINERS
Erie Canal
Regatta
October 3, 2008
Mariners are advised that
the Burnt Hills
Rowing Association will be holding their " Spartan
Sweep Stakes Regatta " on Sunday, October 5th, from 9:00 AM to
2:00 PM . The event will be
held between Lock E-7 in Vischer Ferry and Lock E-8 in Scotia.
Boaters are reminded to use caution and be mindful of their wakes
in this area as there will be 50 sculling boats, spotter boats and
an emergency air boat along the course.
For updates and information, mariners are advised to monitor
1-800-4CANAL4 and www.nyscanals.gov. Additionally, mariners may sign
up for automatic e-mail and text message alerts through the Canal TRANSalert service. This service is offered to notify mariners
of major incidents and emergencies that may affect navigation on the
New York State Canal System. To register for this service, please
