MARINERS

Erie Canal
Lift Bridge Regatta
September 19, 2008
Mariners are advised that a Lift Bridge Regatta will be held on
Sunday, September 21, 2008. The Regatta will take place on the
Erie Canal between the I-490 Bridge in the Town of Perinton and the
Parker St. Bridge in the Village of Fairport. There will be
rowers on the water between 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM. Safety
launches will be posted at each bridge and along the race course.
Boating traffic will not be affected except that mariners are asked
to check with safety launches prior to entering the race course area
and to follow the instructions of the safety personnel while
transiting the area. Temporary buoys marking the race course will
be in place during the event.
