MARINERS

Lock C-7 to C-8

Mariners are advised that the speed limit between Lock C-7 and
Lock C-8, in Ft. Edward has been reduced from 10 mph to 5 mph. This
reduction in speed limit is due to construction activity related to
the Hudson River dredging project.
Vessels transiting the area from either direction must proceed
with caution at 5 mph.
For updates and information, mariners are advised to monitor
1-800-4CANAL4 and www.nyscanals.gov. Additionally, mariners may sign
up for automatic e-mail and text message alerts through the new
Canal TRANSalert service. This service is offered to notify mariners
of major incidents and emergencies that may affect navigation on the
New York State Canal System. To register for this service, please
