NEW YORK STATE CANAL SYSTEM

Mariners are advised that beginning Wednesday, August 8th, underwater inspection work will be conducted at Lock E-28A in Lyons. Boaters are reminded to use caution when approaching the lock and be aware that an inspection diver will be in the water. Please notify the lock attendant before approaching the lock if you are requesting passage. This work will continue until further notice.

Additionally, mariners may sign up for automatic email and text message alerts through the new Canal TRANSalert service. This service is offered to notify mariners of major incidents and emergencies that may affect navigation on the New York State Canal System.
