2011 Notices to Mariners
The New York State Canal System has closed for the season. The projected opening date for the 2012 navigation season is May 1.
To avoid any unnecessary inconvenience or delays, mariners seeking passage through a Canal Corporation lock are advised to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the scheduled closing time.

Notices to Mariners provide the latest information about Canal openings/closures, water levels, construction and other elements affecting navigation on the Erie, Champlain, Oswego and Cayuga-Seneca Canals. When necessary, the Canal Corporation issues several Notices to Mariners daily. Notices to Mariners are only posted on the website Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
